"Mom, can we go to the after-party tonight? We don't know where it is." "When can you pick us up from the party?" "What are we going to get for supper tonight, and who can bring it to us?" "Why is the straightener still plugged in?" -- oops, that one was me ;-)
Ah yes, the never-ending challenge of balancing schedules. One would think it might get easier as the kids get older, but it is just different, sometimes crazy-different.
With the regular school schedule, work and extra-curricular activities, & hanging out with friends, it can sometimes be a very hard challenge to balance the kids' schedule with the few committed things on my calendar. That is one of the reasons I am so thankful to work from home. Many times my schedule is flexible, and the times I've had to change an appointment the schedulers are quite patient in listening to me blabber about why. Or at least they pretend to listen, which is fine with me. Maybe I should have been a circus performer, with all the juggling I can do.
It does help that our son can drive himself, and sometimes helps by driving his sisters. That's got to be a few points in the credit column of me driving myself crazy, right?
