A Special Birthday

A special birthday deserves a special cake...our son is turning 18!

I used to make themed Birthday cakes when they were little, and have only occasionally done them while the kids have been in their teens.

We love to watch Ace of Cakes, and I got the idea to do this cake for our son. Of course it took much longer than planned (6 hours total, w/cakes from scratch), and it was not near as easy as they make it look on t.v. ;-)

To see our son's reaction...totally worth it :-)

    Wow, I am in awe- I have trouble icing a cake with frosting out of the can! That cake is something to be proud of!!
